Office Documents Now Open Inside PrivoHub Drive

Drive stores your documents. It now opens them too.

Word documents, spreadsheets and presentations open in the browser, with the formatting intact. You can edit them, create new ones from the New menu, and work on the same file with someone else at the same time. Nothing to install, and nothing to download and re-upload when you are finished.

Hosted in the EU, and staying there

The editor is not a third-party service your files get sent to. It runs on the same hardware as the rest of PrivoHub, in the EU, operated by us and under EU law.

That is the distinction worth making. The usual way to open a document in a browser is to hand it to a large platform and let it do the work, which means the file leaves the service you chose precisely so that it would not. Here your documents stay where you put them: opened by software we run, on servers we control, and never passed to another company to be processed.

Built on Euro-Office

The engine is Euro-Office, an open-source office suite launched in 2026 by a group of European companies, and a fork of ONLYOFFICE. It handles the Microsoft formats most people actually receive, .docx, .xlsx and .pptx, as well as OpenDocument.

Two things made it the right fit. It is licensed under the AGPL, which means the software running your documents can be inspected by anyone, in keeping with everything else we run. And it is governed in Europe, which matters for the same reasons EU hosting does.

We run the official build, unmodified.

What you can do with it

Nothing to switch on. Open a document in Drive and it opens.

• Edit in place. Changes save straight back to the file in your Drive, with no second copy to keep in sync.
• Create from scratch. New gives you a document, spreadsheet or presentation.
• Work together. Share a file with someone in your workspace and you can both edit it at once.
• Included. No extra charge, on every plan.

Your documents are handled the same way your photos are: kept on hardware we own, and never mined, profiled, or used to train anything.
