Is PrivoHub Photos really Immich?
Yes. PrivoHub Photos runs Immich, the open-source photo and video platform, with small changes for sign-in and branding that we publish on GitHub. You use the official Immich apps.
Which apps do I use?
The official Immich app from the App Store or Google Play (Immich also publishes an APK and an F-Droid build), and Immich in any browser. Enter your address, https://photos-yourname.privohub.com, and press Login with PrivoHub.
Are face recognition and smart search included?
Yes. The machine-learning features run on our servers in the EU and are included in every plan, the free one too.
Can I move my existing Immich server?
Yes. The importer in your Portal copies a library straight from your Immich server using two API keys, or you can run immich-go yourself. Originals, albums, dates, locations, favourites and tags come across. The trash, the locked folder and face names do not: faces are detected again on our side.
Who looks after updates and backups?
We do. We follow Immich releases, test each update before it reaches your library, and back up your photos and the database every night to separate, encrypted storage in the EU.
Is my library end-to-end encrypted?
No, and no Immich server can be: it has to read your photos to find faces, places and things. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest on EU servers, every workspace is isolated from every other, and nothing is used for advertising or AI training.
What does it cost?
You can start free with 15 GB. Larger plans of 200 GB, 500 GB and 1 TB are on the pricing page, and every plan also includes PrivoHub Drive and Vault.
Can I leave?
Any time. Export your whole library from the Portal, or copy it to your own Immich server with immich-go.
