Why Privacy Matters in the Age of Cloud Photos and Files

Every photo you take and every document you save is a fragment of your life: a birthday, a holiday, a quiet moment at home, a contract, a tax return, a private note. When you upload these to a large cloud provider, you are handing the most intimate record of your existence to a corporation whose business model depends on monetising your attention and your data.

What happens to your data in Big Cloud

Most major cloud platforms run on advertising revenue. Even when the service appears "free", the real product is you: your face, your location history, your relationships, your habits, the contents of your files. Machine learning models trained on your uploads improve products you never consented to. Metadata stripped from your images and documents reveals where you live, where you work, and who you spend time with.

A different model

PrivoHub gives you one private workspace for all of it. PrivoHub Photos is built on Immich, an open-source self-hosted photo platform. PrivoHub Drive is built on OpenCloud, an open-source file sync-and-share platform. PrivoHub Vault is built on Vaultwarden, a Bitwarden-compatible password manager that encrypts your logins on your device before they reach us. We run all three for you, so you get the convenience of managed infrastructure without surrendering your data to advertising algorithms.

Your photos and files are stored on servers located in the EU, subject to GDPR. We do not sell your data. We do not train models on your content. We do not share your information with third parties.

You own your data

At any time you can export your entire library and your files from the portal, in one step, and take them to a self-hosted Immich or OpenCloud instance. Photos come back as your original files, Drive comes back with your folder structure intact, and your vault exports from any Bitwarden-compatible client. There is no lock-in. The same open-source software runs on our servers as it would on yours.

Privacy is not a feature. It is the foundation.
