Getting started with PrivoHub Vault
PrivoHub Vault is a managed, Bitwarden compatible password manager, included with every plan and hosted on EU soil alongside the rest of your data. Because it speaks the Bitwarden protocol, you use the official Bitwarden apps and browser extensions, just pointed at PrivoHub.
1. Open your Vault
Your Vault lives at vault.privohub.com. It is the same address for every PrivoHub customer, but the vault behind it is yours alone: you sign in with the same PrivoHub account you use for Photos and Drive, with no separate username to create, and nobody else can see what is in it.
Everyone with a PrivoHub account gets a Vault, including anyone you invite into your workspace. Unlike your storage, it is never shared: their Vault is theirs, yours is yours.
2. Sign in and set your master password
The first time you open the Vault you'll be sent to the familiar PrivoHub login. After you sign in, you'll be asked to create a master password.
This two-step setup is by design, and it's what keeps your secrets truly private:
- Your PrivoHub login proves who you are (single sign-on).
- Your master password encrypts and decrypts the contents of your Vault on your own device. We never see it, and it's never sent to our servers.
3. Install the apps & extensions
Grab the official Bitwarden clients for wherever you work. They're free and open source:
- Browser extension: Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari, Brave, for autofill as you browse. All of them are on bitwarden.com/download.
- Mobile: Bitwarden on the App Store or Google Play, with autofill and biometrics.
- Desktop: Bitwarden for Windows, macOS, and Linux, also on the download page.
Install the app first, then connect it to PrivoHub in the next step. (Don't create a Bitwarden.com account; you'll point the app at PrivoHub instead.)
4. Connect an app to PrivoHub Vault
Bitwarden apps default to Bitwarden's own cloud, so you point them at PrivoHub before logging in:
- On the app's login screen, open the server / region settings (the cog icon, or the region dropdown that says “bitwarden.com”).
- Choose Self-hosted and set the Server URL to
https://vault.privohub.com. Save. - Back on the login screen, choose “Log in with SSO” / “Enterprise single sign-on.”
- If you're asked for an SSO identifier, just enter your email address (or any text). PrivoHub uses one sign-on for everyone, so the value isn't important.
- You'll be redirected to the PrivoHub login. Sign in with your PrivoHub account.
- Finally, enter your master password to unlock the Vault.
5. Everyday use
- Save logins automatically: the browser extension offers to save usernames and passwords as you sign in to sites.
- Autofill: fill credentials with a click (or set up a keyboard shortcut and biometrics on mobile).
- Password generator: create strong, unique passwords for every account.
- More than passwords: store secure notes, cards, and identities too.
- Bitwarden Send: share a password or file securely with an expiring link.
6. Storage and limits
Your passwords, notes, and cards take virtually no space, so store as many as you like. File attachments and Sends are capped at 1 GB per person. Vault storage is separate from your Photos & Drive quota, so it never eats into your plan's storage.
